Sophisticated design of the apartment in Khrushchev turned the typical, not very comfortable accommodation with a small kitchen, a narrow hallway and an uncomfortable bedroom shape into a modern, comfortable living space. In the small apartment, in addition to the bedroom, kitchen and living room, a wardrobe room and an additional seating area appeared.
Apartment redevelopment
To begin redevelopment of the apartment in Khrushchev had to demolish those parts of the walls that were not bearing. Do not touch only those walls that were in the bathroom, in his "wet zone". In addition, during the redevelopment of Khrushchev, an additional wall was erected in the bedroom, isolating the space for the dressing room. This made it possible to avoid cluttering the space with separate storage systems. Dressing room has two entrances - from the bedroom and from the living room, which is very convenient.
Kitchen-living room design
The walls in the design of a small apartment Khrushchev decorated a light gray plaster, sofa area - decorative white brick. The result was a typical Scandinavian design background, on which color accents look advantageous.
The built-in storage system looks like a part of the wall, on which a large inscription is applied - this does not violate the integrity of the interior design. The partition on which the TV panel is located, separates the living room and kitchen area. The color accent in the design was a turquoise carpet on the living room floor.
The dining group in the Khrushchev apartment is located in the living room part - this is a table from the Finnish designer Eero Saarinen, Tulip, surrounded by chairs from the designer from Denmark Hans J. Wegner. According to the author of the project Galina Arabskaya, the presence of such things and give completeness to interior design, communicating individuality and making the atmosphere more comfortable and refined.
The main decorative accent of the kitchen-living room falls on the dinner group; therefore, the sofa and kitchen furniture are very modest and minimalist - they should not divert attention from the center of the composition.
In the design project of the apartment in Khrushchev there are several light schemes. Each functional zone has its own lighting scenario, the backlight can be turned on both simultaneously and in parts - for example, you can only light the table near the TV.
The sofa area is illuminated by a ceiling light hidden in a plasterboard niche and small built-in ceiling lights. Furniture in the dining room illuminates the designer lamp on the wall - it was designed by Serge Mouille.
Bedroom design
The main decoration of the small bedroom is the wall behind the headboard, which is covered with wallpaper of the Soul collection. The large Borastapeter pattern resembles fabulous trees, and the decorative mirror looks like a sun rising in a fantastic forest.
The gray fabric upholstery of the Drim bed by Ditre Italia makes it extraordinarily comfortable. Instead of the traditional side tables, two Adjustable Cigarette coffee tables made of steel structures with glass tops were placed near it - they look light, almost weightless, and do not visually reduce the area.
The light is provided by two Cosmo Capsule pendant lamps by the bed and a desk lamp of unusual design Delightfull, made in Portugal.
Wardrobe
Since I didn’t want to clutter up a small apartment in the Khrushchev, the designer allocated a separate dressing room for storage. Dividing the bedroom into two volumes with the help of a partition, she simultaneously solved the problem of correcting the proportions of the room: the previously elongated and narrow bedroom became more harmonious and closer in shape to the square.
In order to use the dressing room it was convenient, two doors were made into it - one leading to the bedroom, the other to the living room. Clothes and shoes for all seasons and travel bags will fit here.
Balcony in the apartment Khrushchev
The small kitchen has become more spacious due to the recreation area, equipped on the balcony, which had to be pre-glazed. A small table, a chair that can be folded when not needed and a small sofa form a cozy space. In addition, in the sofa you can store things, for the same purpose on one of the walls a cabinet is suspended.
Bathroom design
The apartment Khrushchev small bathroom contains a corner shower, hanging toilet, cabinet with sink and built-in washing machine, as well as two spacious storage systems above the sink and toilet.
