Bedroom design 15 square meters. m

Bedroom - a room created for relaxation, night, daytime sleep. Here a person spends at least a third of his life. When the room is spacious enough, there are places for changing clothes, cosmetic procedures, practicing your favorite hobby, working at the computer. How to best design a bedroom of 15 square meters. m., what colors, style, materials to use.

Features of planning

Before drawing up the project of repairing the bedroom, you should consider what exactly will be located in this room. When the apartment has two or three or more rooms, you can afford a bedroom exclusively for sleeping. In a cramped one-room apartment here, it is necessary to fit not only a space for sleeping, but also a corner for work, a small dressing room, and when it is a living-bedroom or a studio apartment, then the reception area.
Most often in the bedroom there are three logical zones: in one of them place the bed, in the other closet, in the third - the table. The bed is usually placed in the center, headboard to the wall, to the corner wardrobe. If the cabinet is spacious enough, they make a full-fledged study with a computer, office, and other equipment. Depending on its size, one or two bedside tables are placed near the bed, a wall lamp is placed on top, a floor lamp is placed nearby. Working area - a table with a chair, chair, placed by the window. Instead of a desktop in the women's bedroom they put a dressing table with a mirror - they put on makeup here, they work at a laptop. Sometimes instead of a working zone they make a place for sports. Then there is a simulator, a special bench, dumbbells, gymnastic mats, a horizontal bar, and so on.

It is desirable that there is enough free space in the room - a person needs a lot of air for a normal sleep, so you should not overly clutter the room.

Color spectrum

Since this room is intended primarily for relaxation, the color scheme is chosen to promote maximum relaxation, calm after a long working day. For each of these colors will be different - one calms green, another like pastel colors, the third is able to relax only in a purple-black environment.
Fifteen square meters - not so little for the bedroom, further expanding the space with the help of color is optional. When, moreover, here the high ceiling is more than three meters, and the windows face the south side, the room can be quite decorated in dark, cold colors. From this it will not be less comfortable, visually closer. When the ceiling height is not too high, the windows face north, that is, sunlight is rare here, the color design is carried out exclusively in warm, bright colors. A large number of aggressive contrasts in any bedroom should be avoided: these include combinations of red with black or green, bright yellow with blue, any "acidic" shades in various combinations.

The most suitable colors:

  • light yellow with bright green;
  • pumpkin with lime;
  • lilac with pink;
  • apricot with amaranth;
  • terracotta with ocher;
  • chocolate with cream;
  • olive with brick;
  • violet with fuchsia;
  • moderate blue with white;
  • gray with a muted gold;
  • snow blue with titian;
  • denim with platinum.

For a harmonious interior design, one primary color is selected, in which approximately 60-70% of the room runs. About 30% comes from an additional color, within 10% - small color accents.

Style selection

When choosing a stylistic design, you should first of all be guided by your own taste, personal preferences.
Here is how the bedrooms look in different styles approximately:

  • a loft - a bedroom is combined with a living room, the walls are decorated with red brick, there are blackboards on the floor, the windows are large and without curtains, the bed is simple in shape, there is a large massive wardrobe;
  • Industiral - raw plaster on the walls, parts from a motorcycle or a computer as a decor, home-made furniture, as an option - hammered from pallets or having forged parts, on one of the walls - wallpaper with a picture of a megapolis;
  • classic - wood, stone flooring, wooden furniture of natural colors, a canopy bed, a valance, framed paintings on the walls, heavy curtains on the windows, an elegant chandelier, floor lamps;
  • Baroque - expensive decoration of all available horizontal and vertical surfaces, on the ceiling, walls, gypsum stucco, on the floor, instead of carpet, animal skin, bulk furniture, carved, imitation of a fireplace on one of the walls;
  • minimalism - the floor is decorated with laminate, walls - one-color plaster, stretch ceiling, furniture of simple forms, "clean" colors in textiles, the decor is almost absent;
  • Eastern - mostly natural finishing materials, a low bed, almost on the floor, a low coffee table, photo wallpapers depicting a blossoming sakura, a bamboo mat, instead of a rug, a potted bonsai tree or a decorative fountain on the window;
  • hi-tech - the room is decorated in silver tones, furniture abounding in metal, glass, built-in wardrobe with full-length mirrors, steel-colored window blinds, a lot of built-in lights.

Modern materials, ways of finishing

Materials for the bedroom are preferred natural, but their choice depends on the style of the room. For the decoration of the floor, boards are used which are usually painted, parquet, varnished, laminate of suitable colors, carpet. Natural stone and ceramic tiles are rarely used - they are very cold.
Walls are decorated with wallpaper, partly photo wallpaper, decorative plaster, wooden or plastic panels. In especially expensive interiors, walls are upholstered with expensive fabrics, have fragments of leather, natural fur. The ceiling is made of tension, suspended, multi-level plasterboard, made out of textured ceiling tiles, foam moldings, glass or mirror panels.

Irregularities on the walls should be leveled so that the finish on them lay smoothly, beautifully.

Lighting

With the help of light, the room is zoned, its shape is adjusted, if necessary. Preferably, in addition to the central ceiling chandelier, each zone is highlighted separately. The light above the workbench is chosen the brightest - well, if this zone is located by the window, when not, it is lit with a desk lamp on a clothespin, a pedestal. For a computer desk with shelves, built-in lights are made or a long fluorescent lamp is mounted above it on the wall.
A dressing room or a wardrobe, located in a corner of the bedroom, is illuminated with the help of LEDs or lamps with flexible legs. The seating area in the rocking chair is also illuminated by a floor lamp or a reading lamp above the coffee table. Above the bed is adjustable brightness in order to make the bed comfortable to read and fall asleep.
LED strip, mounted around the perimeter of baseboards on the floor, will allow you not to stumble on the walls, if you have to get up at night to drink water. LED backlight of each level of the suspended ceiling structure, gives the impression of a high ceiling. If, on the contrary, one wants to make it lower, the central chandelier is removed altogether or lowered below, highlighting certain zones, important elements of wall decor - paintings, figurines on the shelves, and indoor plants in the corners.

In the children's bedroom, all the corners are well lit so that the child does not get hurt, hitting something in search of a rolled-up toy, and the lights are selected unbreakable.

Choice of furniture and furnishings

Furniture is chosen as ergonomic as possible, especially if the bedroom combines several different zones. Many companies produce furniture in a specific stylistic design immediately sets, the standard kit includes:

  • bed - single, one-and-a-half or double, preferably with an orthopedic mattress;
  • cabinet - most often a wardrobe, sometimes built-in, including the corner;
  • nightstands - usually two of them are the same;
  • dressing table or console under the TV - equipped with a mirror, drawers;
  • chest of drawers - for storing clothes.

Often this situation is complemented by a pair of small bean bags or poufs with a coffee table. If there is a working area, a writing or computer desk is purchased, and the bed is sometimes replaced with a folding sofa. Furnishing materials are selected environmentally friendly, odorless, suitable for the chosen style of the room.

Textiles and decor

Textile elements should be combined with each other - curtains with a spathe or colored inserts in the closet, pillowcases on pillows with covers on chairs, coffers with carpet coloring, wallpaper. Separate interiors assume the design of folds of fabric ceiling, decorating walls, as well as textile canopies, canopies over the bed, valances at the bottom of the bed or table.
The decor should not be too much - a couple of pictures or photos in the frames on the walls, an interesting design of the mirror, a "dream catcher" under the ceiling lamp. On the wall near the dressing table or dresser fabric homemade organizers are placed to store various secrets.

Bedroom design of different shapes and configurations

It is easiest to decorate a bedroom with a simple quadrilateral geometry. Combined rooms such as a living room-bedroom, a bedroom connected to a warmed balcony or loggia, irregular shapes with a bay window, an L-shaped layout are usually adjusted with the help of furniture, competent zoning, mirrors, lighting. Niches and podiums are used for zoning, if the design decision of the room suggests it.

Rectangular

The more elongated the room is, the more compact the furniture for it is chosen. Along the entire short wall is better to put a wardrobe - so the shape of the room will be closer to the square, which means it will look more harmonious. Another option: to place the bed headboard to a smaller wall, on both sides of it - compact bedside tables with lamps on them. If the long walls are illuminated, but the short ones are not, the room will also be more square.
If it is planned not only to sleep in this room, zoning is carried out - part of the room with a bed is separated by a screen, a curtain, a screen. The role of the "border" is easily performed by the wardrobe, which is placed on the opposite side of the bed. In this case, its back wall is covered with wallpaper, to create a complete impression of a separate room, or to be decorated with a shelf.

Square

This form does not need to be corrected - any placement options for interior items are possible here. The cabinet is placed at the head of the bed or along the wall that is farthest from the window. To maintain full symmetry, you can put two identical compact corner lockers, between them - a bed with bedside tables on the sides. A table for work or make-up is placed at the foot or closer to the wall, it is possible to use an angular computer table with shelves, drawers.
In another version, a volume chest of drawers is placed opposite the bed, in the center of which is a TV, on one edge is a desk, on the other is a sort of dressing table. Here, as far as possible, symmetry is also observed, unless otherwise intended.

United with balcony

Insulated balcony can significantly expand the area of the bedroom - about three to six square meters. m. Most often there "endure" office, sports area, and lovers to sleep by the window - a bed. Where there was a window before, the tabletop is mounted, preferably of a rounded shape, so that when entering the balcony not to cling to a corner every time. They also make a place for a daytime rest on the balcony, making out an area with a compact sofa, a couple of armchairs with a coffee table - here it is convenient to read in daylight, to watch the sunset while having a cup of evening coffee or a glass of wine. But it is not advisable to place a dressing room there - the cabinet's cover will quickly fade under the sun's rays, and if there are no curtains on the windows, then people from the street will see how residents are dressed.

If you plan to sleep on the balcony, you should make it soundproof, thick curtains.

Bedroom-living room

The sleeping area in such a room is fenced off with a screen, curtain, shelving, plastered with other wallpaper, or settled on a podium. Over the bed, sometimes hang a canopy. You can zone a room using a high-backed sofa, behind which are shelves. Sometimes, instead of a separate sofa and bed, a large modular design is acquired, on which guests are accommodated during the day, and the owners sleep at night. The bed-case is also a very convenient object - in the afternoon it leans back against the wall, making room for a table, in the evening it falls to a horizontal position, and the table and chairs move into a corner. The TV is mounted on a narrow console opposite the bed.

Bedroom with office or work space

A mini-office in the bedroom is convenient if the work for which it is made requires silence, calmness, concentration. The workplace, if possible, is done at the window, in the bay window, then the window sill becomes the worktop. It is desirable to place the computer desk at a maximum distance from the bed. This zone is fenced off with a bookcase or a closet, a screen, a portable screen, embedded in any corner structure, taken out on a glassed-in balcony or arranged on a podium. Bright illumination of the workplace is a must. A loft bed saves space, and a study is located under it.

Conclusion

Fifteen square meters of bedroom space will not only accommodate a comfortable bed, but also other things necessary for work and rest. There are interiors where in the bedroom there is even a bath or shower. Beautifully decorate the interior easily with your own hands, but to implement complex design ideas you will need the help of specialists.
